Alex started his career reviewing videogames for TimeOut London and promoting games as a freelance PR while still at school. After graduating from King’s College London with a Philosophy degree, Alex spent several years working in Russia and South East Asia organising high profile business and consumer events including, most notably, the 11th Summit of the Heads of State of the G15 Nations and Real Madrid’s first tour of Asia.
In 2005 Alex set up his consultancy Agendae to develop interactive content propositions for media and technology companies. Agendae’s clients included in-games advertising pioneers IGA Worldwide and media giants Universal Media and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.
In 2007 Alex founded Near Global an interactive media studio that builds accurate, immersive experiences of real-world places from survey data, plans and BIM models. The company’s products included NearLondon - a virtual reality (VR) experience of London’s West End - and mobile, tablet and VR experiences of flagship London developments including St James’s Market, NEO Bankside and Battersea Power Station.
In 2015 Alex joined Ordnance Survey to help define its innovation strategy and set up the Geovation Hub – a ground-breaking new location services lab tasked with stimulating the launch of new businesses using geospatial data.
